AirBaltic flies high: Passenger numbers jump 19% in February 2024

In February 2024, airBaltic, the national airline of Latvia, sustained its strong start to the year by accommodating 277,800 passengers, marking a 19% rise compared to the same period in the previous year. Despite the typical decrease in demand during the winter season, the airline demonstrated consistently robust figures in passenger transport within a single month. Additionally, airBaltic conducted 2,840 flights in February, indicating an 11% increase from the preceding year.

more than half a million passengers, confirming our position as the preferred airline in the Baltic States.
This year, our focus is on expanding our fleet and destinations to offer passengers a wide range of
travel options, which is attracting significant interest from travelers. With more than 130 routes in
operation, we are connecting our home bases to the globe more extensively than ever before.”

In the upcoming summer season, airBaltic is set to introduce 15 new routes, with 7 departing from Latvia, 3 from Estonia, 4 from Lithuania, and 1 from Tampere. Additionally, the airline intends to boost flight frequencies on existing routes, including those from Riga to Rome and Prague, and from Vilnius to Paris, Munich, and Tallinn, as well as from Palanga to Riga.

Recently, the airBaltic Group announced an all-time record profit of EUR 34 million for 2023. During the same period, the airline successfully transported over 4.5 million passengers and conducted more than 44 thousand flights.

airBaltic operates an extensive network of over 130 routes, spanning from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, Tampere, and seasonally Gran Canaria. This network offers travelers connections to diverse destinations spanning Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region.
