Beginning March 1, All Nippon Airways (ANA), recognized as Japan’s premier airline and recipient of the 5-Star rating for 11 years in a row, will unveil a refreshed lineup of Japanese sake and shochu for its onboard service and in ANA lounges. Overseen by Yasuyuki Kitahara, ANA’s esteemed sake advisor and a member of THE CONNOISSEURS, as well as serving as the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Conrad Tokyo, the curated collection features 62 brands. This selection harmoniously blends revered traditional favorites with exciting, contemporary varieties. The exclusive range will be available to first and business class travelers on ANA’s international flights, premium class passengers on domestic routes, and guests at the “ANA SUITE LOUNGE” and “ANA LOUNGE” for both international and domestic journeys.
“Delivering on our commitment to continuously elevate the ANA experience, we’re thrilled to introduce our newest lineup of Japanese sake and shochu,” said Tomoji Ishii, Executive Vice President, Customer Experience Management and Planning of ANA. “With each sip, passengers will embark on a flavorful journey through Japan’s rich culinary tapestry, ensuring an unforgettable inflight experience.”
Moreover, in a special promotion during August 2024, first-class passengers on international flights will get the unique chance to savor “IWA 5 Assemblage5” in advance of its market debut in September. “IWA” is a distinguished sake label from Toyama prefecture, conceived by Richard Jofrowa, the former Chief Brewer at Dom Pérignon. It is celebrated for its pioneering “Assemblage” blending method. Since the introduction of IWA 5 Assemblage 1 in 2020, a new blend has been launched annually, with the upcoming IWA 5 Assemblage 5 set to be released in September 2024.
Additionally, customers can enjoy pre-service tastings of recommended shochu at the “ANA SUITE LOUNGE” and “ANA LOUNGE” for international flights at Tokyo’s Haneda and Narita airports, scheduled from February 16 to February 29, 2024.
