American Cruise Lines Adds American Patriot and American Pioneer Two New Ships for 2025

American Cruise Lines is excited to reveal the addition of two brand-new small ships arriving in 2025: American Patriot and American Pioneer. These sister ships, accommodating 125 passengers each, mark the 5th and 6th vessels in the company’s Project Blue series of 12 new small ships designed specifically for the U.S. market. Both ships will be constructed at the Chesapeake Shipbuilding yard in Maryland.

American Patriot and American Pioneer are set to begin their voyages in June and November 2025, offering a variety of unique U.S. routes along the East Coast. Among these is the premiere of the 15-Day Grand Florida Coast & Keys cruises, expanding on the popularity of the previously introduced 8-Day Florida Gulf Coast & Keys cruises aboard Coastal Cats: American Eagle and American Glory (2023), as well as American Liberty and American Legend (2024).

Boasting 5 decks and 56 staterooms each, these new ships feature a traditional bow design and enhanced coastwise capabilities for smoother sailing. With full stabilization, they promise a comfortable experience for passengers. Furthermore, they expand the company’s range of U.S. coastal itineraries, showcasing American Cruise Lines as the only provider globally with a fleet entirely composed of U.S.-flagged riverboats and small ships.

The interior design of American Patriot and American Pioneer emphasizes elegance and spaciousness, with 100% private balcony accommodations including standard staterooms, suites, and singles. Notably, the ships’ 4th decks will offer expansive all-suite accommodations ranging from 420 to 620 square feet, a rarity for vessels of this size.

Visitors can relish water vistas from every spot in the Main Lounge and Restaurant located on deck 1. Deck 5 extends the experience with extra facilities like seating, dining, and fitness areas, boasting a 360-degree Skywalk track, an indoor Sky Lounge, an outdoor Sun Deck, and a laid-back café. Noteworthy features also include a Bow Terrace and the Horizon Lounge on deck 3, complemented by an indoor fitness center on deck 4.

With the launch of American Patriot and American Pioneer in 2025, American Cruise Lines will operate a total of 21 small ships across the U.S., providing an unparalleled variety of U.S. River and coastal itineraries. These cruises, remaining entirely within U.S. waters throughout, offer a unique coastally-focused experience previously unavailable in so many regions of the country. By continually introducing new small ships with top-notch amenities, American Cruise Lines is meeting the growing demand for domestic itineraries and creating extraordinary opportunities for cruising closer to home.
