American Cruise Lines

American Cruise Lines is thrilled to unveil its captivating lineup of New England cruises for the upcoming summer season—the sole coastal itineraries in the region exclusively visiting U.S. ports of call. Set against the backdrop of New England’s picturesque coastlines, islands, historic ports, and seaside villages, guests are invited to embark on an unforgettable journey akin to the company’s renowned domestic river cruises. Featuring six intimate ships, including the introduction of three new Coastal Cats, our 2024 New England season offers a selection of enticing 8 to 15-day itineraries. Among these are the inaugural Yankee Seaports cruises between Boston, MA, and New York City, as well as the fresh Hudson River Summer Classic cruises, departing from and returning to New York City.

Distinguished by being the sole overnight cruise explorations remaining entirely within the U.S.A., American’s coastal itineraries traverse over twenty charming New England ports from May through September. Mimicking the ease of river cruises, our small ships dock centrally at each destination along the itinerary, ensuring guests can immerse themselves fully in the experience. From the comfort of private balcony staterooms, guests savor breathtaking views, indulge in authentic lobster bakes, and partake in guided shoreside adventures.

Highlighting the historic allure of New England’s towns and villages, our itineraries celebrate the region’s rich maritime heritage. With stops in Plymouth, Bar Harbor, Bangor, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, Block Island, Newport, Gloucester, and beyond, guests can explore storied harbors effortlessly, unpacking just once for a seamless journey akin to private yacht travel. Conveniently departing from regional ports like Boston, MA; New York City; Providence, RI; Bar Harbor, ME; and Bangor, ME, our cruises cater to the drive-to-cruise market, offering an escape from the hassles of summer air travel.

American Cruise Lines’ exclusive 2024 New England sailings encompass a variety of enticing options, including 15-Day Grand New England cruises, 11-Day New England Explorer cruises, 8-Day Cape Codder cruises, 8-Day New England Islands cruises, 8-Day Maine Coast and Harbors cruises, 8-Day Downeast Maine cruises, and the new 8-Day Yankee Seaports cruises sailing between Boston, MA, and New York City. Additionally, our summer offerings include the debut of the 8-Day Hudson River Summer Classic cruises, with expanded June sailings exploring the enchanting Hudson Valley, building upon the immense popularity of our fall Hudson River cruises.

“Exploring coastal New England in summertime, especially from the water, is an unforgettable
experience,” said Melissa Young, Director of Business Development for American Cruise Lines. “And
while some large ship lines sail parts of this region, none can cruise it the way American’s small U.S ships
do—sailing protected waters, accessing local harbors where big ships don’t go, and never visiting a
foreign port of call.”

In 2024, American Cruise Lines has experienced remarkable growth, expanding its small ship fleet and diverse range of New England itineraries. Six ships now navigate the Northeast throughout the summer season, while an additional 19 vessels traverse various routes across the country until December. Each itinerary is thoughtfully crafted, featuring onboard experts, historians, authors, and captivating evening entertainment that vividly showcases the history and allure of each region visited.

Embarking on these journeys aboard new, spacious small ships, guests are treated to an exquisite experience. Indulge in gourmet cuisine, daily cocktails, and the epitome of luxury amenities available in small ship cruising. For those departing from Boston, there’s also the option to enhance the experience with a Four Seasons Pre-cruise Package, adding an extra layer of comfort and convenience to the voyage.
