Antigua and Barbuda led a high-level delegation to China this week to be part of China’s International Trade Expo in Shanghai. It is a major event that drew more than 250,000 visitors over five days at the beginning of this month.
The delegation, led by Antigua and Barbuda Foreign Affairs Minister Chet Greene, also included Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, along with Senior Sustainable Tourism Officer in the Ministry of Tourism Vashti Casimir, Babu Browne of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Managing Director of Shell Beach Seafoods Company Ltd Wilbur Edwards.
A key focus of the booth of Antigua and Barbuda was to raise an awareness for the twin-island destination in China; James met with several prospective investors looking to explore travel opportunities for Chinese tourists, who will comprise the globe’s largest group of outbound travelers by 2025.
