Assam cabinet decides on education, industry, sports and tourism

The Assam Cabinet has taken a lot of decisions in the areas of education, industry, sports and tourism among others.

Assam Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu said that the state cabinet had thought to promote 116 tea garden model schools as government schools, to carry on TET together with employment analysis for engaging teachers in the secondary level institutes, to create governing organization in engineering institutions and technical colleges in Assam, to employ chief educator in elementary schools among others.

In the meantime, the Tourism Minister of Assam Jayanta Malla Baruah said that the state cabinet had
thought to deliver grants on bank lends to buy vehicles for government staffs, to drive approvals to the center for enlisting the state-recorded OBC groups in the center grade.

Bimal Bora, who is Assam Industries and Commerce and Sports Minister said that for improvement in the
industry segment in Assam, the state cabinet has decided to ink agreement with five businesses valued
at approximately Rs. 3000 crore which will produce 4750 occupations.

Previously, the Assam government had inked agreements with eight firms valued at Rs. 8000 crore.
