On Valentine’s Day, when love will hover in the air, Bali will introduce its new tourism tax. On February 14, a tax levy will be in effect for all international tourists who wish to visit this island.

This has been done keeping in mind the safety of the natural beauty. Now, in order to safeguard it—the traditions, customs, arts, and local wisdom—the Bali Provincial government has finally implemented the International Tourism Law.

By promoting the island’s persistent dedication to sustainable tourism, this campaign aims to promote the safeguarding and preservation of its distinctive artistic heritage.

There are a couple of visa categories that are exempt from the fee. This is also inclusive of encompassing diplomatic as well as the official visa holders, conveyance crew, golden and student visa holders, family unification visas, and specific non-tourist visa holders. In addition to this, the holders of KITAS, which is the Residence Permit Card for a short-term or brief stay, and KITAP, which is the permit card for ensuring a permanent stay, are exempted from taxes as well.

Tourists have been asked to apply for the visa prior to their arrival. This has been asked to be undertaken online before scheduling their flight to Bali. Furthermore, the online visa process must be done on a different website that goes by the name of Love Bali site.

Wonderful Indonesia, which captures the essence of Indonesia, has said that there will be three main areas relating to which the tourism levy funds will be allocated.

Preserve Heritage tops the list. The fund will be spent on protecting the customs and traditions and art-local wisdom relating to the Balinese realm. Furthermore, it will help in the sustenance of cultural aspects of Bali Island.

The second happens to be “Nurture Nature”. They have added that the tourists will be effective in contributing to the preservation and nobility of Balinese culture and natural environment, thereby making it an even more beautiful destination.

Lastly, the funds will be used for the evaluation of experiences that would help in improving and enhancing the quality of tourism management in Bali, which will furthermore promise an enjoyable and safe travel adventure in Bali.
