Barbados Tourism,

BTMI Latin America kick-starts the year, showcasing Barbados’ allure across key events, making strong connections in the travel industry.

In an ambitious and strategically planned series of events, the Barbados Tourism (BTMI) Latin America team has embarked on an energetic journey across the region, laying a solid foundation for the year’s promotional efforts. Their recent participations in key industry events not only underscore their commitment to enhancing Barbados’ presence in the Latin American travel market but also highlight the vibrant culture and unique offerings of this beloved Caribbean destination.

A Strong Kick-off at Vitrina Turistica Anato, Bogotá

From February 28th to March 1st, the team made a significant appearance at the Vitrina Turistica Anato in Bogotá, Colombia. This premier regional tradeshow, marking the start of the calendar year’s events, drew an impressive crowd of over 50,000 attendees. The platform provided an unparalleled opportunity for the BTMI Latin America team to showcase Barbados to a wide audience, engaging with potential tourists and industry partners, thereby reinforcing Barbados’ appeal as a top travel destination.

Breaking New Ground at Expoturismo Paraná, Curitiba

Continuing their momentum, on March 7th and 8th, the team ventured into new territory with their first participation at the Expoturismo Paraná in Curitiba, Brazil. In a notable achievement, Barbados was the only Caribbean destination represented at the event. This strategic move allowed the team to directly engage with travel trade stakeholders from the economically diverse southern states of Brazil as well as Paraguay, expanding Barbados’ reach and strengthening ties within the region’s travel industry.

Cultivating Connections at “Paladar Internacional,” Brasília

Simultaneously, on March 8th, the BTMI Latin America team supported the Barbados embassy in Brazil by contributing branded giveaways and AV content at the consumer-focused event, “Paladar Internacional,” in Brasília. This event was a cultural showcase, featuring Brazil-based Bajan chef, Kamilia Callender, who delighted patrons by preparing traditional Barbadian dishes, Pudding and Souse. The collaboration not only highlighted the rich culinary heritage of Barbados but also fostered a deeper cultural exchange and connection with the Brazilian audience.

The BTMI Latin America team’s proactive and dynamic approach in these early months sets a promising tone for Barbados’ tourism efforts throughout the year. By strategically positioning Barbados at key events and fostering meaningful connections, they are not only enhancing the island’s visibility but also establishing it as a premier destination in the hearts and minds of Latin American travelers. The success of these initiatives is a testament to the team’s dedication and the universal appeal of Barbados’ rich culture, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality.
