At present, a new Orange County Task Force will decide the way to use $287 million of tourism tax dollars.
The Tax Citizen Advisory Board for Tourism Development comprises government members; members form the hospitality sector and Chamber of Commerce. No one in the team is in fact entitled for TDT money. They remain unbiased in that way.
The reserves of the TDT in the past have been utilized for the convention center, promotion of tourism, art museums and professional sports services.
Harold Mills TDT member said that as they are undecided at this juncture, on what precisely that should be, he’s looking at the team to find out.
Mills said that when every year, one has $300 million coming into their community and he/she wants to know that investment, every citizen should be knowing about that investment and how they give importance to that is a crucial factor.
