Busan One Asia Festival shifts to June to enhance accessibility and tourist experience, offering special packages and international ticket sales.

This year marks the eighth edition of the Busan One Asia Festival (BOF), which will be celebrated over two days on June 8 and 9. The event is hosted by the Busan city government and organized by the Busan Tourism Organization, highlighting its significance in promoting the city as a vibrant cultural destination.

The festival will commence with the BOF Big Concert on the first day at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium, featuring a lineup of nine K-pop acts. These performers range from veteran groups like g.o.d and Super Junior-D&E to newer artists such as Zerobaseone, Boynextdoor, Nowadays, n.SSign, Lun8, H1-Key, and Billlie. On the following day, June 9, the Park Concert is scheduled to take place at Hwamyeong Eco Park, although the performers for this event have yet to be announced.

In an effort to cater to international visitors, the city government and the Busan Tourism Organization have made arrangements with overseas ticketing platforms, including KKTIX in Taiwan and Ticket Pia in Japan. This collaboration enables foreign tourists to purchase tickets online, making the festival more accessible to a global audience. Additionally, special BOF tour packages are being offered, which include KTX train tickets from Seoul to Busan. These packages are specifically designed for foreign travelers arriving through Incheon and Gimpo international airports, illustrating a focused strategy to boost international tourism.

Traditionally held in October, the festival’s schedule has been moved to June this year. This decision was influenced by feedback from Busan’s tourism sector, which noted the challenges posed by the concentration of major festivals in the latter half of the year. By rescheduling BOF to June, the organizers aim to better distribute tourist traffic throughout the year, thereby easing the potential strain on local transportation and accommodation services.

This strategic timing is expected to enhance the experience for festival-goers, ensuring they can enjoy the festivities without the hassles of overcrowding. It also underscores Busan’s commitment to optimizing its event calendar in response to the needs of both the tourism industry and visitors, further positioning the city as an accommodating and attractive destination for global travelers.
