Speaking during the discussion, Minister Huot Hak emphasized Cambodia’s commitment to becoming an active partner in the development and growth of regional tourism connectivity, stating, “We believe that through such a partnership, we not only look forward to growing our own tourism sector, but also look forward to growing the overall tourism sector in Asia.” Cambodia, through its partnership with CICA, aims to build stronger relationships with its neighboring countries, and through this, they hope to share resources and knowledge, ultimately benefiting the overall tourism economy in Asia.

Driving Regional Tourism Connectivity and Cooperation

The core focus of the discussions was the promotion of regional tourism connectivity between Cambodia and the other member countries of CICA. One of the major proposals from Cambodia was the establishment of a CICA Tourism Investment Forum to provide a platform for potential investors interested in Cambodia’s growing tourism sector. Cambodia proposed joint training initiatives with CICA to enhance the professional knowledge and technical skills of tourism officials and experts.
