On February 2, 2024, Carnival Firenze became a part of the Carnival Cruise Line fleet, transitioning from its sister line, Costa Cruises. This addition expands the Carnival fleet to a total of 27 ships. In Cadiz, Spain, representatives from both cruise lines gathered on the ship’s bridge this morning to finalize the handover.
Carnival’s team is now set to spearhead a refurbishment initiative over the next two months, infusing the vessel with numerous beloved features familiar to Carnival guests, enriched with an Italian touch.
“The beauty of Florence, Italy is about to meet the FUN of Carnival Cruise Line! We are elated to welcome Carnival Firenze to the Carnival fleet, joining her sister Carnival Venezia to showcase ‘Carnival Fun Italian Style,’” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
Starting April 25, 2024, Carnival Firenze is set to embark on year-round voyages from Long Beach, California. Providing a diverse array of sailing options, the ship offers three- and four-day journeys to Mexico and Catalina Island, along with five-, six-, and seven-day cruises to the Mexican Riviera, encompassing Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta.

Upon boarding Carnival Firenze, passengers will be enveloped in Italian architectural charm, both internally and externally. The ship’s atrium mirrors the exquisite main public square of Florence, Piazza del Duomo, while the Lido deck draws inspiration from the Italian Riviera. Echoing popular features from Carnival Venezia, the ship introduces La Strada Grill, presenting classic Italian street food, a Mexitalian fusion restaurant named Tomodoro, and Il Viaggio, Carnival’s latest specialty Italian restaurant highlighting distinctive culinary regions of Italy. Bars Amari and Frizzante will offer a range of Italian specialties, with Amari featuring craft cocktails, authentic Italian coffee, and biscotti, and Frizzante serving effervescent libations. Guests can partake in activities like Festa Italiana, a deck celebration merging Little Italy with Lido, the Captain’s Venetian Toast, and Italian-inspired youth programming for kids and teens.

In addition to these offerings, passengers will discover familiar activities and experiences from other Carnival ships, such as the Heroes Tribute Lounge, Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Java Blue Café, Serenity Adult-Only Retreat, and Carnival WaterWorks.
