Cathay Pacific debuts ferry lounge at Shenzhen Shekou Cruise port

Cathay Pacific is excited to announce the opening of its inaugural lounge beyond an airport, now available to guests at the Shekou Cruise Home Port in Shenzhen. This new ferry lounge enhances the overall travel experience for customers, fostering sea-to-air connectivity between Hong Kong International Airport and the entire Greater Bay Area.

To commemorate this milestone, Cathay Group Chief Executive Officer Ronald Lam and Cathay Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau were joined by esteemed guests at the opening ceremony on January 18. Among them were Deputy Director Li Lirong from the HKMAO of the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, Director Grace Lai Sui-king from the Shenzhen Liaison Unit of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Zhang Zhenyang from the Tourism Marketing & Promotion Division of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, Fan Weiqing from the Port Customs Administration Office of Office of Port of Entry and Exit of Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, and Lv Rufu, General Manager of Shenzhen China Merchants Shekou Cruise Home Port.

Key to achieving this is providing reliable intermodal services, encompassing air, sea, and land options for customers to seamlessly connect with Cathay Pacific flights at Hong Kong International Airport.

Customers can enjoy smooth transfers using Cathay Pacific’s codeshare ferry services, traveling directly from the Shekou Cruise Home Port to the SkyPier Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport. With 11 round-trip ferry services daily, the journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Passengers can conveniently collect their ferry tickets, boarding passes, and through-check their luggage onto Cathay Pacific flights worldwide.

The lounge, featuring the signature design language by London-based Studioilse, is consistent with Cathay Pacific lounges globally. It offers customers a place to unwind before boarding their ferry, providing a stunning 270-degree view of the surrounding area, including a glimpse of Hong Kong in the distance.

The Shekou lounge is open to Cathay Diamond and Gold members, as well as First and Business class customers, Cathay Silver members, and relevant oneworld members traveling on Cathay Pacific flights.
