‘Tourism works’ was the note that Maggy Monhollen gave the associates of the Corbin Tourism and
Convention Commission in the course of a distinctive held conference last Friday.

Monhollen said that with a lot of enthusiasm and keenness she wants to share with everyone the
financial effect of tourism in 2022 in Kentucky, and evidence that tourism works.

Monhollen said that visitor expenditure last year has surpassed earlier accounts for financial influence.
State-wide visitor capacity and expenditure amplified by 8% and 16%, correspondingly.

Monhollen added that total financial influence for the state of Kentucky concerning tourism, direct visitor
expenditure last year remained $8.9 billion. The total financial effect of tourism remained $12.9 billion in
Kentucky.

The tourism segment generated 91,668 jobs annually and produced $937 million in state and local
levies.

Monhollen progressed from state-wide statistics to those for Daniel Boone Country, the 18-county area
of which Corbin is a part of.

The entire financial influence of tourism for the area was $542.9 million.
