The opening of the Dalaman Golf Club is a significant development in Türkiye’s Golf tourism. It is the first of its kind development in the region. The first Founding Preview Invitational Tournament was held on August 30, ahead of the official opening of the club for general users on September 1, 2022.
Located in southwest Türkiye, the new golf venue aims to transform Dalaman into an international golf destination by combining a world-class championship course, modern training facilities and luxury hospitality experiences through its partnership with Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme Resort & Golf.

The opening event was specially timed with Türkiye’s Victory Day celebrations, creating a memorable launch moment for the new facility. The Founding Preview Invitational brought together future members, guests and golf enthusiasts who experienced the newly designed par-72 championship course along with the club’s premium facilities.
Participants had the opportunity to explore the club’s advanced golf infrastructure, including a modern driving range equipped with TrackMan technology, extensive short-game practice areas and a newly built clubhouse designed to enhance the overall player experience.

The tournament reflected Türkiye’s national spirit through a distinctive red-and-white theme inspired by the colours of the Turkish flag. Players followed the special dress code, with men wearing white polo shirts paired with red caps, while female participants wore red polo shirts with white caps.
The competition was played under an individual Stableford format, attracting golfers eager to become part of the first chapter in the history of The Dalaman Golf Club.
In the men’s Category A division, Callum Kenny from Prenton Golf Club in Merseyside secured the top position after delivering an impressive performance with 39 points. Can Özede won the Category B division with 32 points, while Maddison Merritt claimed victory in the women’s category after defeating Deborah Garnett through a countback decision, both finishing with 31 points.
The Founding Preview Invitational represented more than the opening tournament of a new golf course. It marked the beginning of a broader vision to establish Dalaman as a leading golf tourism hub in the Mediterranean region while creating new opportunities for sports tourism growth in Türkiye.
Designed by the International Design Group, The Dalaman Golf Club has been developed in one of southwest Türkiye’s most environmentally significant landscapes. The course is located just 20 minutes from Dalaman International Airport, offering easy access for international travellers arriving from major European markets.
The golf course has been carefully integrated into a unique natural environment surrounded by long sandy beaches, diverse vegetation and freshwater lakes that provide important resting areas for migratory birds.
Built on natural sandy soil and developed using sustainable construction methods, the championship layout stretches 6,152 metres from the back tees, equivalent to 6,728 yards. The course offers wide Mediterranean views and a design that combines challenging play with the region’s natural beauty.
Beyond the main course, The Dalaman Golf Club features a complete golf training and leisure ecosystem. Its 20-bay driving range includes 10 bays fitted with TrackMan Range technology, allowing players to analyse and improve their performance using advanced digital tools.
Additional facilities include a putting green, short-game practice zone, clubhouse, restaurant and halfway house, providing golfers with a full-service experience from training sessions to post-game relaxation.
The launch of The Dalaman Golf Club also strengthens the appeal of Hilton Dalaman Sarıgerme Resort & Golf, a luxury resort located beside the Dalaman River where the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas meet.
Opened in 2009, the resort has established itself as one of Türkiye’s leading upscale holiday properties, offering luxury accommodation, extensive sports facilities, private beach access and a wide selection of restaurants and bars featuring local and international cuisine.
The combination of a new championship golf course and an established luxury resort creates a powerful tourism offering for Dalaman, attracting golf travellers seeking premium experiences alongside beach holidays, nature exploration and Mediterranean leisure.
With its strategic location, sustainable design and connection to luxury hospitality, The Dalaman Golf Club is expected to strengthen Türkiye’s position in the global golf tourism market and introduce a new generation of international visitors to the natural and cultural attractions of the Dalaman region.
