Dan Vandal today declared an amount of $99,000 for Festival du Voyageur

Cold weather, every year, along with generations of heritage and heartening joy combine together as Festival du Voyageur changes Whittier Park in Winnipeg into a mid-winter cultural and artistic experience. As the biggest Francophone event in Canada’s western region, this festival witnesses every year more than 75,000 attendees and turns into an important tourist attraction for residents and visitors alike.

The Honourable Dan Vandal, today, who is the Minister for PrairiesCan and Member of Parliament for St. Boniface declared an amount of $99,000 for Festival du Voyageur with an aim to fortify this significant Manitoba ritual. This investment will help Indigenous traditions, culture, and art. With an aim on the history of Voyageurs and their fur related occupation, this festival, will continue to throw light on Francophone, First Nations, and Métis culture in Manitoba. It would start from February 16 to 25. 

Festival du Voyageur is a vital tradition that places Manitoba’s joie de vivre on the showcase. Improved Original programming at the festival will expand to the experience of all festival visitors. Festival is an imperative tourism attraction for St. Boniface and attracts communities under-one-roof by greeting all who relish winter for this exclusively Manitoba experience.
