Delta Air Lines has announced the introduction of new flight routes connecting Boston to Honolulu and Seattle to Miami for the upcoming winter season. This expansion means that Delta will offer direct flights to Hawaii from its Boston hub and ensure that Miami is connected nonstop to all nine of Delta’s hubs.

For those looking to travel to Hawaii in the next winter season, Delta will provide a selection of 22 daily flights. The service from Boston to Honolulu is scheduled to run daily from November 21, 2024, through April 30, 2025. This addition is significant, given Hawaii’s popularity as a top tourist destination, known for its beaches, hiking trails, and luxury resorts.

Tourism forecasts for Hawaii anticipate welcoming between 9.8 and 10.1 million visitors in 2024 and 2025, respectively, nearing the pre-pandemic visitor count of 10.4 million in 2019. Furthermore, Delta’s existing winter schedule includes flights from Boston to seven destinations in Florida and seven in Mexico and the Caribbean.

Delta is also recognized for operating the majority of flights from Salt Lake City, compared to other airlines. The airline is set to bolster its schedule with a second daily seasonal flight to Honolulu from November 6, 2024, to March 29, 2025. Additionally, Seattle will benefit from a third daily seasonal flight to Honolulu, running from December 21, 2024, to March 29, 2025.

This expansion means Delta will now offer flights to Hawaii from eight mainland U.S. cities, covering four Hawaiian destinations. This includes flights to Honolulu from all Delta hubs. Moreover, the airline is reinstating its route between Atlanta and Maui from November 21, 2024, to March 29, 2025, making Atlanta the sole eastern U.S. city to offer direct flights to Maui.

These strategic additions by Delta Air Lines are poised to significantly impact tourism, facilitating easier and more direct access to major tourist destinations like Hawaii and enhancing connectivity between key cities in the U.S. The expansion is expected to cater to the rising demand for travel to Hawaii, potentially driving up visitor numbers to near pre-pandemic levels.

By increasing the number of direct flights to sought-after winter destinations, Delta is not only providing more travel options for its passengers but also contributing to the growth and recovery of the tourism industry in these locales.
