During this winter season, Delta is significantly expanding its seat capacity departing from Miami by a remarkable 27% compared to its 2023 offerings. This ambitious move is part of Delta’s concerted efforts to establish itself as the preferred airline in South Florida.

Delta is introducing additional flights to various key destinations, including Atlanta (ATL), Detroit (DTW), Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP), New York-JFK, New York-LGA, and Orlando (MCO). This expansion effort will result in 37 daily peak-time departures from Miami to 12 different destinations. Furthermore, a recent addition to their route network is a direct flight to Washington, D.C. (DCA), which commenced operations just last month. Altogether, this expansion equates to approximately 1,300 extra seats per day provided by Delta departing from Miami.

Luciano Macagno, Delta’s Managing Director for Latin America, the Caribbean, and South Florida, emphasized Delta’s commitment to Miami and South Florida. He noted that this commitment is evident through new partnerships, network improvements, a top-notch customer experience at the airport, and significant community engagement and investment.

In addition to Delta’s direct routes, Miami serves as a global gateway for the airline, connecting travelers to an additional 13 cities worldwide through Delta’s strategic partnerships with Aeromexico, Air France/KLM, LATAM Airlines, and Virgin Atlantic. This October marked the one-year anniversary of Delta’s partnership with LATAM, resulting in the introduction of six new routes, including the new Miami to Medellin, Colombia route launched on October 29th. The successful joint venture has already completed 15,000 flights, transported over 3 million passengers, and covered more than 56 million miles. Delta and its joint venture partners collectively offer service to seven of the top ten international destinations from Miami.

Delta has also made significant enhancements at the Miami airport itself, including the installation of cutting-edge check-in kiosks, the implementation of a streamlined quick-connect process, and the introduction of a more seamless check-in experience through the Fly Delta app.
