Disney Cruise Line unveiled exciting details about its upcoming vessel, the Disney Destiny, marking a significant milestone in its construction journey with a traditional keel laying ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Embracing the auspicious maritime customs, the Disney Destiny, a vessel steeped in tales of legend and lore, is gradually taking form.
Set to join its siblings, the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, the Disney Destiny will embrace a captivating theme of “Heroes and Villains,” drawing inspiration from the rich tapestry of beloved Disney narratives, characters, and theme park attractions. This thematic approach aims to craft a cruise experience where guests are encouraged to embrace their own narratives during each remarkable voyage.
The collaborative efforts of the Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering teams were fueled by the dynamic interplay between light and darkness inherent in every iconic Disney story. This ethos informs the development of the Disney Destiny, where guests will encounter an array of heroes and villains from cherished Walt Disney Animation Studios classics like “The Lion King,” “Hercules,” and “One Hundred and One Dalmatians,” woven seamlessly into the onboard spaces, experiences, and entertainment.
To further accentuate the theme, Disney unveiled exquisite new filigree artwork adorning the bow of the Disney Destiny, a continuation of the beloved design tradition of Disney Cruise Line.
