In a strategic move to elevate tourism to a pivotal sector within its economy, Đồng Nai Province’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism is laying the groundwork for an innovative integration of eco-tourism with its flourishing agricultural landscape. This initiative seeks to harness the province’s intrinsic natural and agricultural assets to forge a sustainable and lucrative eco-tourism industry.

Boasting a reputation as the southeastern region’s premier fruit-producing hub, Đồng Nai is home to expansive orchards sprawling over 70,000 hectares. These orchards are teeming with a bounty of tropical fruits, including durian, grapefruit, orange, mandarin, and custard apple, positioning the province as a potential powerhouse for eco-tourism development. The region’s abundant natural resources, characterized by lush forests, serene waterfalls, meandering rivers, and tranquil lakes, further underscore its eco-tourism potential.

A cornerstone of this ambitious plan is the construction of the “Tân Triều Cultural and Tourism Village” situated on the picturesque Tân Triều riverine island within Tân Bình Commune, Vĩnh Cửu District, as revealed by Lê Thị Ngọc Loan, the department’s director. This village is poised to become a flagship project for the province, embodying the concept of “One Community, One Product” (OCOP) and offering visitors a unique glimpse into the province’s agricultural and cultural heritage.

Tân Triều island, renowned for its delectable sweet grapefruits, is already a beacon for agritourism, with orchard owners diversifying their offerings to include tourism services. Visitors can indulge in a variety of grapefruit-derived products, from wines and jams to essential oils, milk tea, and salads, enriching their experience with the local flavors and craftsmanship.

In alignment with the national drive towards modernizing rural areas, Đồng Nai has significantly upgraded its infrastructure, particularly in rural locales, thereby enhancing access to orchards and facilitating the growth of agritourism. Initiatives such as educational excursions to other provinces for local farmers aim to foster a deeper understanding and adoption of successful agritourism models.

Districts like Tân Phú, Vĩnh Cửu, Cẩm Mỹ, Xuân Lộc, and Long Thành, along with Long Khánh City, have seen a notable expansion in orchard tourism services. The province also prides itself on its vibrant craft villages, renowned for their exquisite fine-art furniture, pottery, dried banana, and grapefruit wine.

With 23 tourism sites and 131 accommodation facilities totaling 3,500 rooms, Đồng Nai is well-equipped to welcome both domestic and international visitors. This integrated approach to eco-tourism and agriculture promises not only to boost the local economy but also to offer a rich, immersive travel experience that showcases the best of Đồng Nai’s natural beauty and agrarian lifestyle.
