Al Seef Park in Dubai is poised to transform into a cultural nexus with the inauguration of the India by the Creek festival, commencing tomorrow, March 8. The event is a testament to the profound and multifaceted relationship that Dubai and India share, marked by a blend of cultural, economic, and tourist exchanges.

India, known for being a top source of tourism influx into Dubai, has fostered a unique bond with the city, charmed by its architectural marvels, luxury resorts, and unparalleled shopping experiences. In return, Dubai residents find solace and excitement in India’s diverse heritage, business ventures, and leisure pursuits.

The connectivity facilitated by numerous direct flights has made exchanges between Dubai and India more seamless than ever. Both regions have actively engaged in initiatives aimed at bolstering tourism cooperation, including making visa processes more streamlined and launching joint promotional activities. Such endeavors have significantly contributed to strengthening not just the tourism sector but also the cultural and economic ties between Dubai and India.

In recognition of this enduring partnership, the Dubai Duty-Free, in collaboration with the Indian Consulate General, is orchestrating the India by the Creek festival. This initiative was inspired during discussions with Satish Kumar Sivan, the Indian consul general in Dubai, underscoring the essence of the UAE-India relationship beyond commerce to include deep-rooted cultural links.

Teamwork Arts, renowned for its expertise in curating cultural experiences, is tasked with bringing this festival to life, which is set to be an annual fixture offering an enriching cultural tapestry to attendees of all ages without any admission fee.

The festival boasts a lineup of luminaries and performers hailing from India, including Purushottam Agarwal, Malini Awasthi, Alif, Navdeep Suri, Sonam Kalra, and the legendary Indian Ocean band. This gathering promises an array of activities, workshops, and performances that will cover the spectrum of Indian art, music, and literature, offering an immersive experience from the afternoon into the evening. Through India by the Creek, Dubai not only honors its special connection with India but also provides a platform for cultural immersion and celebration, enhancing the cultural panorama of both regions.
