Embraer (NYSE: ERJ; B3: EMBR3) and CAE (NYSE: CAE; TSX: CAE) have opened the first E-Jets E2 full flight simulator (FFS) in the Asia Pacific region in Singapore, marking a significant expansion in training capabilities through the Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS) partnership. This new E2 training initiative includes CAE’s competency-based training assessment (CBTA) materials, interactive sessions utilizing the CAE Simfinity virtual simulator (VSIM), and hands-on training with the cutting-edge CAE 7000XR Series FFS, positioned at the Singapore-CAE Flight Training Centre close to Changi Airport. This facility aims to serve E2 aircraft operators within the region effectively.

Scoot, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has initiated training for its pilots on the Embraer E190-E2 jet, anticipating its forthcoming service introduction later in the year. These pilots will engage in comprehensive flight training on CAE’s advanced FFS, undertaking various drills to refine their proficiency and readiness for the jet’s initial commercial flights.

“We celebrate the successful operations of the E2 simulator and comprehensive pilot training program and thank all our partners and employees who have been involved in this process,” says Carlos Naufel, President & CEO of Embraer Services & Support. “This is part of Embraer’s commitment to grow our infrastructure in Asia Pacific and to contribute to the region’s aviation growth story. Along with CAE, we remain committed to providing high-quality training to our customers and their pilots.”

“The start of training and the official inauguration of the first state-of-the-art E2 full flight simulator in the Asia Pacific region is a significant milestone in the growth and success of Embraer-CAE Flight Training,” said Michel Azar-Hmouda, CAE’s Division President, Civil Aviation Training. “Technology is at the core of the new E2 program, with CAE’s VSIM, CBTA courseware and latest-generation FFS preparing pilots for the entry-into-service and safe operation of the E2 in the APAC region.”

“Embraer and CAE’s launch of the E-Jets E2 full-flight simulator in Singapore is the first of its kind in Asia Pacific. Not only does it add to the suite of aftermarket services in Singapore, it is a valuable addition to the region’s aerospace and aviation ecosystem. We look forward to collaborating with industry partners to build capabilities that fuel the growth in APAC and enhance the skills of aerospace and aviation talent in the region, from Singapore,” said Ms Elaine Teo, Senior Vice President, Global Enterprises Division, Singapore Economic Development Board.

In December 2023, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore accredited the simulator.

The E2 full flight simulator’s educational suite is enhanced by classroom sessions featuring interactive touch screen modules that expedite the learning process. The VSIM, an impactful tool for pilot instruction, offers comprehensive system access for the aircraft, enriching standard commercial pilot training. This tool allows for the simulation of various system operations, serving both as a teaching aid for instructors and as a study tool for pilots for both group learning and individual practice.

The training programs provided by ECTS are integral to the Embraer Services & Support framework, which consolidates a full range of products and solutions to ensure superior service and support experiences. This framework aims to strengthen Embraer’s market presence and daily support, thereby increasing value for its clientele.
