Emirates Now Serves 19 Destinations Across The Americas with Bogotá Addition

Emirates has launched its eagerly awaited services to Bogotá, Colombia, marking its expansion into four South American destinations and extending its presence to 19 locations across the Americas.
The inauguration of this new route was celebrated at El Dorado International Airport’s gate A14 with the arrival of flight EK213 from Miami, which was greeted by traditional Colombian dancers. The event featured a cake-cutting ceremony and the exchange of symbolic gifts, attended by a delegation of VIPs including His Excellency Luis Miguel Merlano Hoyos, the Colombian Ambassador to the UAE; His Excellency Mohamed Alshamsi, the UAE Ambassador to Colombia; Sergio Paris Mendoza, Director General of Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia; and Natali Leal, General Manager of OPAIN.
Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ Executive Vice President of Passenger Sales and Country Management, and Salem Obaidalla, Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations – Americas, who were among the Emirates executives on the inaugural flight, led the welcoming ceremony. The delegation also included international media personnel who traveled from Dubai and Miami, and the event was attended by local dignitaries including vice ministers, ambassadors, and other notable guests.
The daily flights to Bogotá, operated via Miami with a Boeing 777, now offer premium services, including the first First Class option on this popular route. During the welcome event, Emirates showcased its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft configured with three classes: eight private First Class suites, 42 lie-flat Business Class seats, and 304 spacious Economy Class seats, to dignitaries, government officials, media, and industry representatives.
On the commencement of flights to Bogotá, Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ EVP Passenger Sales and Country Management said: “The addition of Bogotá to our network reinforces our deep commitment to South America and to expanding our reach in this important continent. We are also excited to provide our premium services between Miami and Bogotá and to introduce a First Class offering for the first time-ever on this popular route. Emirates operates daily flight EK213, which departs from Dubai at 0215hrs and lands in Miami at 1005hrs. It leaves Miami at 1205hrs and arrives in Bogotá at 1455hrs. The return flight, EK214, departs Bogotá at 1719hrs, reaching Miami at 2215hrs, and then departs Miami at 0045hrs the following day to arrive in Dubai at 2300hrs. All times mentioned are local.

Emirates is expanding its network and has partnered with Avianca. This new service to Bogotá offers Colombian travelers easy access to Dubai, with onward connections to major destinations in the Far East, West Asia, and Africa.
The recent codeshare agreement with Avianca enhances options for Emirates passengers. Travelers can now fly directly from Dubai, connecting through cities like Madrid, Barcelona, or London Heathrow, to three Colombian cities: Bogotá, Medellin, or Cali. Available codeshare flights include routes from Madrid to Bogotá, Medellin, or Cali; from Barcelona to Bogotá; and from London Heathrow to Bogotá.
This collaboration between Emirates and Avianca offers customers the ease of booking combined itineraries on both airlines with a single ticket, competitive fares, and a unified baggage policy, enhancing the travel experience with seamless connectivity and added conveniences.
Enhancing the “Fly Better” commitment, Emirates provides customers with an exceptional travel experience, featuring high levels of comfort onboard, regionally-inspired gourmet dining, and top-tier entertainment on its extensive fleet of widebody aircraft. On flights between Miami and Bogotá, passengers can savor Colombian cuisine through special menus offering complimentary food and beverages. First Class and Business Class travelers enjoy local breads and hot chocolate with their meals, while Economy Class passengers are treated to popular Colombian snacks.
Emirates’ Boeing 777-300ER, equipped with 354 seats across three classes, introduces premium services on the Bogotá-Miami route, including lie-flat seats in First and Business Class. Passengers benefit from a generous baggage allowance policy (conditions apply).

The addition of the Boeing 777-300ER service enhances cargo capacity, offering up to 20 tonnes per flight. This boost supports Colombian exports, including fresh flowers, fruits, vegetables, and other perishables, enhancing access to worldwide markets.

Travelers flying between Dubai and Bogotá must comply with entry regulations for the United States and possess all necessary documents due to immigration procedures in Miami.
