These programs are meant to make trips cheaper increase the number of visitors and help tourism grow during the season. The plans are designed to lower travel expenses get more people to travel both inside the country and from abroad and help hotels, airlines and local businesses. The government’s new tourism stimulus programmes will support travellers, airlines and tourism businesses through travel subsidies, domestic flight discounts and international flight promotion campaigns.

The three initiatives are expected to inject billions of baht into the tourism economy while helping Thailand strengthen recovery during the low season. The government aims to launch the programmes during September and October 2026 to create immediate demand instead of waiting until the high season.

The combined budget for the three schemes is estimated at 2.45 billion baht, with officials projecting around 56 billion baht in tourism-related revenue generation.

Thailand Accelerates Tourism Support With Low-Season Travel Strategy

Thailand’s tourism industry has faced several challenges, including rising operational costs, higher fuel prices and uncertainty in international travel markets. To maintain growth, the government is preparing targeted support measures that can stimulate travel activity during traditionally weaker months.

Instead of waiting for the fiscal 2027 central budget, authorities are exploring an emergency funding route that could allow the programmes to begin earlier.

The funding plan is linked to an emergency borrowing facility worth 400 billion baht. This approach is designed to speed up implementation and ensure that travellers and tourism businesses receive support before the peak travel season begins.

The government believes that launching the programmes in September and October will provide a stronger economic impact because these months represent an important opportunity to encourage travel demand.

Thai Tiew Thai Plus Scheme to Make Domestic Travel More Affordable

The first major initiative, the “Thai Tiew Thai Plus” programme, will focus on strengthening domestic tourism through a co-payment model.

Under this scheme, travellers and the government will share eligible tourism expenses equally, with each side covering 50% of the cost.

The programme aims to encourage Thai residents to explore destinations across the country while increasing spending among local tourism businesses.

The scheme will cover a wide range of tourism-related services, including:

The initiative will operate across all 77 provinces of Thailand, helping distribute tourism income beyond major destinations such as Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai and Pattaya.

The government plans to provide 500,000 travel entitlements under the programme.

Each traveller could receive up to five benefits, while hotel subsidies would be limited to a maximum of 3,000 baht per entitlement.

Additional spending coupons worth up to 500 baht per entitlement would also support purchases at participating businesses.

The programme requires an estimated budget of 1.75 billion baht.

Authorities expect the scheme to generate around 32.046 billion baht in economic activity and approximately 1.6 billion baht in tax revenue.

Fly Thai All the Feelings Scheme to Boost Domestic Air Travel

The second programme will focus on making domestic flights more affordable and improving connections between Thailand’s major tourism centres and secondary destinations.

Named “Fly Thai All the Feelings”, the initiative will provide airfare discounts for 400,000 domestic airline seats.

The scheme aims to encourage travellers to visit lesser-known destinations by reducing the cost of air travel.

Passengers flying to major destinations will receive a discount of 400 baht per flight.

Those travelling to secondary destinations will receive a higher discount of 600 baht per flight.

The discounts will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participating airlines will distribute promotional booking codes that passengers can use when purchasing tickets.

Six Thailand-based airlines operating domestic routes are expected to participate in the programme.

The initiative will require a budget of approximately 200 million baht.

Officials estimate that the scheme could encourage at least 200,000 people to travel if passengers use the discounts for return journeys.

The programme is expected to generate around 1.6 billion baht in economic activity while supporting regional tourism growth.

Thailand Air Connect Programme to Strengthen International Tourism

The third initiative, called “Thailand Air Connect”, will focus on expanding international tourism opportunities through airline partnerships and overseas flight promotion.

The programme will provide financial support for joint marketing campaigns with commercial airlines and charter flight operators.

A budget of 500 million baht is planned for the initiative.

The government aims to support at least 600 international flights through cooperation with airlines and charter operators.

The programme targets:

The initiative is expected to generate tourism revenue of at least 23.16659 billion baht.

By strengthening international air connections, Thailand aims to attract more visitors from overseas markets and maintain its position as one of Asia’s leading tourism destinations.

Emergency Funding Route to Speed Up Tourism Recovery

The government is considering using part of a 400-billion-baht emergency borrowing facility to finance the tourism measures.

The borrowing plan includes two major sections.

The first 200 billion baht is intended to support Thailand’s transition towards renewable and clean energy development.

The remaining 200 billion baht focuses on urgent assistance for households and businesses affected by energy-related challenges.

The tourism programmes could receive support from this second allocation because the measures are designed to help businesses impacted by higher costs and weaker market conditions.

Tourism operators and airlines have been particularly affected by rising fuel prices, which have increased operational expenses.

Three Schemes Aim to Create Long-Term Tourism Growth

The three tourism programmes were approved during a public-private sector tourism committee meeting in July 2026.

The final funding details will be discussed before the proposals are submitted for government approval.

If successful, the first phase of the tourism stimulus strategy could lead to additional support measures during future low seasons.

Thailand’s latest tourism push highlights the country’s commitment to maintaining visitor growth, supporting businesses and creating more affordable travel opportunities.

Thailands tourism recovery is growing fast in 2026. Three big travel plans are making trips expensive. These plans are increasing the number of people who want to visit. They are also helping the tourism industry grow. The plans give rewards for travelers and, for businesses during the time when fewer people visit.

With domestic incentives, cheaper flights and stronger international connections, the three major travel schemes are expected to play a key role in driving Thailand’s tourism revival throughout 2026.
