Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler introduces Chelan Goonetilleke as the new General Manager. Chelan’s unwavering dedication to delivering the Four Seasons experience in this idyllic mountain setting ensures an exciting journey ahead.

“I am grateful for the journey I have had with Four Seasons family. From the tropics to the sand and the snow, I have travelled with my family to live, learn and share along the way and I couldn’t be more thrilled to continue in Whistler in a new role. We continue to aspire to offer the kindest and the warmest hospitality,” says Chelan Goonetilleke.

Chelan’s career in the hospitality industry began in 2007, taking on the role of Senior Director of Marketing for Four Seasons Mauritius and Four Seasons Seychelles. Over the years, his journey led him to Dubai, where he oversaw marketing for Jumeirah Beach and Dubai DIFC Four Seasons properties. Chelan Goonetilleke has been an invaluable member of the Whistler team since 2017, when he joined as a Director of Marketing. His journey at the resort continued to evolve, taking on the role of Hotel Manager in 2021, where he has consistently achieved remarkable results. Under his leadership, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler has achieved record financial success, received multiple prestigious awards, and achieved unparalleled guest satisfaction scores.

“Whistler continues to inspire me – everyone here is interwoven with a common thread, which is their love for the adventure or the mountain life. Our guests in the hotel and our staff all come here for the same reason. Whether to ski, snowboard, bike or hike, this common interest creates an energy unlike any other and it creates a platform to make a mountain of memories,” remarks Chelan.

Beyond his professional endeavours, Chelan finds joy in spending quality time with his family, including his wife Dee and their children Aniika, Maya, and Liam. He’s also an enthusiast of exploring new cocktail bars, hitting the golf course, and indulging in his passion for skiing.

With his extensive background in the hospitality industry and proven leadership, Chelan is poised to take the Resort to new heights.
