Discover Nuru, the new dining experience at Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, blending global cuisine with the majesty of the wilderness.

The Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti proudly unveils its latest culinary gem, Nuru, a newly opened restaurant set amidst the spectacular African wilderness.

The name ‘Nuru,’ which translates to “light” in both Swahili and Arabic, captures the essence of the vibrant African sunrises, the enchanting light of the golden hour over the savannah, and the starlit night sky. These elements combine to create an elegant and unforgettable dining experience for sophisticated travelers.

Formerly known as Kula’s, Nuru has been transformed through a comprehensive renovation that incorporates natural elements and warmth. Artisans have meticulously incorporated complex textures and design elements that resonate with the Serengeti’s spirit, creating a multi-sensory dining environment. As the day progresses, Nuru’s ambiance shifts with the natural light, offering unique settings for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Guests can start their day basking in the morning glow over the vast Serengeti plains at Nuru. The restaurant’s elevated location not only provides stunning views but also a chance to observe wildlife, such as elephants, at the nearby watering hole. Following a morning safari, the lunch menu features exquisite dishes prepared by our chefs. The evening offers a scenic backdrop of sunsets in the lounge bar area, perfect for enjoying appetizers before a dinner that promises a journey of flavors with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients.

“We are excited Nuru is the new highlight of the many dining options within the Lodge premises,” says Marisa Fernandes, General Manager of Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti. “Nuru allows us to offer our guests a more immersive exploration of the world of culinary artistry, seamlessly blending exceptional dining with the magic of the Serengeti.”

Fernandes explains, “It is a brand-new concept for the Lodge, adding to an already extensive array of dining options. Nuru is a stunning venue where guests can socialize and unwind while enjoying various cuisines and an atmosphere that make it a truly unique dining experience within the Serengeti National Park.”

Included in the Lodge’s comprehensive dining plan, Nuru offers a diverse menu that spans continental classics, sumptuous steakhouse selections, wholesome healthy dishes, and finely crafted Mediterranean cuisine. The menu also features premium selections including dry-aged meats and top-quality produce that enhance the gourmet experience to extraordinary heights. Additionally, Nuru hosts The Vineyard, a cozy dining space within the Lodge’s former wine cellar, offering exceptional wine-paired meals for a distinct dining event. This setting allows guests to savor upscale dining deep within the wilderness, enriched by renowned African hospitality. The wine list is thoughtfully assembled, spotlighting South African vintages, each carefully chosen to complement the meals and cater to the diners’ tastes.

Nuru is the largest dining venue at the Lodge, infusing classic safari dining with a touch of enduring elegance. At the Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, guests have the luxury of choosing different dining settings each day, including the poolside tranquility of Maji, the cultural immersion of Boma with its traditional Maasai and Swahili fare, and a variety of personalized experiences. These range from Bush dinners and exclusive plant-based meals in the Treehouse, to in-villa Barbecues and secluded dinners on the pool island. These unique offerings establish the Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti as a premier gastronomic destination in its own right.
