G20 summit becomes a blessing to Uttarakhand hoteliers

Digvijay Singh Bisht, the president of Hotel and Resort Association of Nainital said that there are 335 listed hotels and resorts in the lake city and adjoining places and all of them are receiving reservations from tourists, particularly inhabitants of Delhi.


The G20 summit is bringing a lot of positivity to proprietors in Uttarakhand with more than 70% hotels
and resorts getting reserved in Nainital and Mussoorie up to now, and hoteliers are supposing 100%
reservation by the 7 th of this month.


The arrival of tourists in the hills is because of the four- day extended weekend. A long weekend due to the event of Shri Krishna Janmashtami falling on September 7, followed by breaks with regard to the
G20 summit from September 8 to 10 to enable the smooth manner of the summit.


Mr. Bisht said that the G20 has come as a blessing for hotel owners and tour operators. Tourism in the
Kumaon area had been seriously impacted in the monsoon period owing to extreme weather and
avalanches.


Besides Nainital, other hill stations like Bhimtal, Almora, Kausani, Bhowal and Ramnagar among others
are also anticipating decent business this weekend.
