Global Tourism Business Association honors DoT secretary Frasco

Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco has been honored with the World Tourism Icon of the Year award by the Global Tourism Business Association (GTBA) in recognition of her significant contributions to the growth of the tourism industry in the Philippines. 

Michelle Taylan, President and Founder of GTBA, expressed that Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco was recognized for her outstanding leadership skills in uniting the entire tourism sector to work towards a shared objective of strengthening the tourism industry. She said, “ The Tourism Secretary was also cited for her numerous projects aggressively promoting the Philippine tourism industry both locally and internationally, which has produced positive results”. 

Secretary Frasco stated, “I’d like to thank GTBA for taking the lead in forming the group and starting projects that greatly benefit the tourism industry”.

Frasco served as the guest of honor at the launch of the Global Tourism Business Association and Travel Sale Expo 2024. She presided over the induction and swearing-in of the new set of officers for GTBA. 

GTBA, a nonprofit national tourism business association, aims to be the legitimate voice for its members, advocating for their interests in the industry. Additionally, the 2nd Travel Sale Expo (TSE) has been officially announced, scheduled for September 27 to 29, 2024, at Megatrade Hall 1-3, SM Megamall.
