Hainan Airlines is set to recommence direct flights from Brussels to Shanghai (Pudong) commencing June 18th, marking its third route from Belgium to China after Brussels-Beijing and Brussels-Shenzhen. This initiative doubles Hainan Airlines’ daily flights between Belgium and China, enhancing travel options and fostering deeper cultural ties and collaboration between Europe and China.
The airline intends to conduct four international flights weekly connecting Brussels and Shanghai (Pudong) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.Outbound flights are scheduled to depart Brussels International Airport at 12:00 local time, arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 5:00 local time the following day, with an estimated flight duration of 11 hours. Inbound flights will depart from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 02:10 local time and land at Brussels International Airport at 08:10 local time, with an estimated flight duration of 12 hours. Passengers can conveniently purchase tickets through various channels provided by Hainan Airlines, including their official website, app, WeChat official account, mini-program, service hotline 95339, direct ticket offices, and authorized agents. Additionally, the airline offers diverse product options such as preferred seating selection, prepaid baggage, in-flight upgrades, and business package tickets to cater to various travel needs.
In early March, China expanded its visa exemption agreements with 157 countries and simplified visa procedures with 44 countries, including unilateral visa-free policies for nationals of 12 countries, 11 of which are European. Furthermore, China initiated a trial visa-free policy for ordinary passport holders from Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, and Luxembourg starting March 14th this year, reflecting its commitment to fostering healthy tourism markets.
The resumption of the Brussels-Shanghai (Pudong) route coincides with the 10th anniversary of Belgium and China’s comprehensive friendly partnership, aiming to bolster cultural exchange, economic cooperation, and trade between the two nations.
