IBTM World 2023

IBTM World 2023, Europe’s prominent trade show for the global meetings, conference, and events travel industry, unfolds in Barcelona from November 28-30 and today is the final day of the event. With 36 top business event suppliers, it offers a platform for 15,000 industry professionals in travel and tourism industry to engage through one-to-one appointments, workshops, presentations, and educational sessions. IBTM World 2023 serves as a key networking and knowledge-sharing hub.

Educational Programmes

One of the objectives is the creation of a specific educational program that reflects the ever-changing needs of the show’s attendees, feeding the business culture that is generated in venues like IBTM World 2023. To this end it will feature content aimed at optimizing attendees’ time and ensuring it is a catalyst for growth and inspiration.

A new revitalized training program with new meeting scenarios

This year’s visitors will find a revitalized education program, with five distinct areas that cater to different needs. The Impact Stage will make its debut this year, acting as a showcase of the work that destinations, hotels and technology providers are doing sustainability and experience design.

Workplace Revolution

Also new this year is Workplace Revolution, a welcoming space for valuable networking. In recognition of the importance of wellness, especially at busy trade shows like this one, the IBTM wellness center has been renamed “ReFuel”. A zen-like capsule that allows attendees time and space to relax and recharge their physical and mental batteries.

Main Stage

The Main Stage remains a fixture of the IBTM World 2023 global program, with inspirational figures from inside and outside the events industry taking to the stage to address the latest topics and trends through keynotes, panel discussions and research. New this year will be an evening of curated marketing content in collaboration with experts from The Thought Partnership, who have led content and marketing at companies such as Cannes Lions and Dow Jones.

Event Industry Scenario

Booking figures for tickets and exhibition space demonstrate the appetite in the event industry. Exhibiting destinations include The Croatian National Tourist Board, a rising star of the European meetings industry; Meet Boston, which will launch its new brand at the event; and returning Enit Agenzia Nazionale del Turismo, which will return with a strong regional presence along with multiple private companies, and Meet In Ireland, which will return with more than 35 suppliers from across the island of Ireland.

Melia Hotels International will attend to present its new hotel in Barcelona, and Romania’s Backstage Production Group, a full-service event production company, will participate for the first time.

David Thompson, Director of Events at IBTM World, says: “Business events can be a profound force for change, both economically and socially. Events have the power to deliver better business results and drive agendas around important initiatives. Events are also a place to build communities and create vibrant, positive cultures that are sorely missed in the modern workplace. This year, we’re on a mission to show companies the true power of events and shine a spotlight on the #culturecreators who lead them.
