IHG Hotels & Resorts Unveils Ambitious Thailand Expansion with New InterContinental Phang-Nga Bay Resort Set for 2028

IHG Hotels & Resorts a global leader in hospitality, is rapidly expanding in Thailand, further enriching its portfolio of luxury resorts with its newest addition. The forthcoming InterContinental Phang-Nga Bay Resort, anticipated to open in 2028, will be situated in Samet Nangshe, a uniquely scenic area within Phang-Nga.

This 150-room resort emerges from a management agreement between IHG and Plaipol Co., Ltd., a prominent Thai gold industry leader venturing into the hospitality sector. This breathtaking resort will offer an ideal sanctuary for travelers in search of serenity, featuring unparalleled views of Phang-Nga Bay. Famous for its stunning limestone cliffs and awe-inspiring landscapes, Phang-Nga Bay is one of Thailand’s most iconic national parks.

As IHG’s latest resort addition in Thailand, this property will complement the 39 existing hotels in the country, including 15 resorts. Of the eight InterContinental Hotels & Resorts properties in Thailand, five are resorts, with InterContinental Phang-Nga Bay Resort poised to elevate the brand’s distinguished presence in a fresh location.

The signing follows recent launches such as InterContinental Bangkok, InterContinental Khao Yai Resort, InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping, and InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit. These properties, across key destinations including Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Koh Samui, Phuket, Khao Yai, and Chiang Mai, contribute to the growing footprint of IHG’s luxury offerings in Thailand.

The upcoming InterContinental Phang-Nga Bay Resort will be conveniently situated just 45 minutes by car from Phuket International Airport and a mere 20 minutes from the recently developed Andaman Airport. This luxurious resort will feature 150 stylish suites and private villas with pools, complemented by diverse amenities such as two distinct restaurants, a vibrant bar, an exclusive Club InterContinental lounge, spacious meeting facilities accommodating up to 200 guests, a full-service spa, fitness and wellness center, a swimming pool, and a dedicated Kids Club.
