IHG Hotels & Resorts, a prominent global hotel company, has entered into a management agreement with A.R Resorts & Hotels Pvt Ltd to establish a new hotel in Amritsar – introducing voco Amritsar Airport. This 139-room hotel is slated to welcome travellers in December 2024.

The inauguration of voco Amritsar Airport marks its fifth establishment in India and the first in the state of Punjab. This achievement reflects the brand’s impressive growth journey since its introduction in India earlier this year, as it expanded into various markets including Jim Corbett, Gurugram, Mumbai, and Goa. This rapid expansion aligns perfectly with IHG’s ambitious regional growth strategy for its premium brand.
Amritsar, a dynamic city in the northern Indian state of Punjab, is among the fastest-growing and busiest urban centers in India. With its rich cultural heritage and the iconic Golden Temple, one of Sikhism’s holiest shrines, which draws over 100,000 visitors daily, Amritsar is a significant destination for both religious pilgrims and leisure travelers.
