In Muskoka, summer tourism reviving

As the summer is slowly coming to an end, tourism-related sectors are placing high expectations on its accomplishment just one year from the concluding restrictions related to COVID were lifted.


The residents and visitors in Muskoka are grabbing the chance to take the advantage of this summer season post-pandemic.


The tourism industry, starting right from resorts to cruise ships, in places like Gravenhurst, is enjoying the brand new freedom.


Jordan Waines with Muskoka Steamships said that for three years at the time of pandemic, the Seguin had to be down, so this year they’ve appointed a new chief engineer who’s got it up and running, after experiencing three-years break and they could be excited to have it back on the water.


An predicted 40,000 passengers every year, characteristically journey on the two ships in Gravenhurst with sailings enduring in anticipation of the long weekend of Thanksgiving.


Santa’s Village in Bracebridge is experiencing rebirth in visitor numbers as well, with almost 100,000 people hoped to come this summer.


Jamie Hopkins, Village general manager, Santa, said that back to normal again is what keeping them ahead.


The owner of Muskoka Honey Bee Products, Ann Marie Tapley, attested to the augmented pace in terms of tourists, mainly from other countries.
