With positive and constant initiations, Vietnam is stepping up the revival process of international tourism in the middle of adapting to the pandemic.

Promotional activities in the past few weeks have increased across localities like Hanoi, northern Quang Ninh province, and central Quang Nam province to attract maximum international tourists back to this Southeast Asian country.

From Thursday to Sunday i.e. yesterday, 3rd April, the Vietnam International Travel Mart 2022 took place here after experiencing two years of suspension. It’s the largest annual tourism trade fair in the South-East Asian country and is marked the reopening of the Vietnamese tourism in the new normal.

The country welcomed 91,000 international arrivals in the first quarter of 2022, on another positive note which surged 89.1 percent against the same time 2021, said it’s General Statistics Office.

For the upcoming summer travel season, several new products like marine tourism, cultural tourism and eco-tourism with exclusive features of localities have been introduced as the highlights of the event.

The country fully reopened its borders on March 15th to foreign visitors after remaining closed for nearly two years due to disruptions caused by Covid-19. For that reason, most restrictions related to travelling had been removed for international arrivals to Vietnam.

At this moment, visitors only require to prove that they have been vaccinated completely or recovered from the virus infection, with a negative test result as per requirements by local health authorities. Also, they should have insurance coverage of minimum US$10,000 for possible Covid-19 treatment in Vietnam.
