Beginning January 11, 2024, IndiGo, a leading airline in India, has launched flight services linking Ahmedabad in Gujarat to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh. This new air route opens up direct links between these two cities, offering both business and leisure travelers convenient flight choices to Ayodhya, a city steeped in history and cultural significance. The Ahmedabad-Ayodhya connection is a strategic move by IndiGo to improve intercity travel and significantly cut down journey times.

This latest addition marks IndiGo’s second flight path originating from Ayodhya, following the recent inauguration of the airport there. The airline had previously initiated flights connecting Delhi with Ayodhya starting January 10, 2024, and plans to begin services between Mumbai and Ayodhya from January 15, 2024.

Vinay Malhotra, the Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed his enthusiasm about the new Ahmedabad-Ayodhya route. He emphasized that this route will greatly facilitate access to Ayodhya, an important center for religious, cultural, and historical heritage. This expansion is expected to boost direct flights to other major destinations like Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai, as part of IndiGo’s comprehensive 6E network. Malhotra highlighted that this initiative will open up new business opportunities, encourage travel and tourism, and contribute to the economic progress of the regions involved. IndiGo continues to focus on its commitment to providing seamless and affordable connectivity, both within India and internationally, ensuring punctual, courteous, and hassle-free travel experiences.
