Indonesia to play against Argentina at FIFA Match Day in June

Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy in Indonesia said that the welcoming game between Indonesia and Argentina at the imminent FIFA Match Day in June this year would be a great attraction for local tourists.


Uno said that they have not estimated it yet, but expect that the flow of domestic tourists will be high
due to the massive curiosity of football enthusiasts concerning this match.


The minister said that the Indonesian government’s aim of 1.4 billion local tourists this year would be
boosted by sports tourism, comprising this important game between the Indonesian and Argentine home
football teams.


Earlier, Erick Thohir, the General Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) said that
Indonesia would play a welcoming game against Argentina at the FIFA Match Day in the month of June.


Argentina will come to Indonesia for boosting Indonesia’s football expansion, and the match is a type of alliance promotion between the two countries, said Minister Uno.


Indonesia will also contend with the Palestinian team, presently ranking 93rd in the FIFA men’s status, in the course of FIFA Match Day on a different day.


The Indonesian team play against Argentina on June 19 at Gelora Bung Karno, said the minister. He added that it is indeed a great moment for football of Indonesia for maintaining its energy of progression.
