Oceania Allura Marking First Year A year to the day has passed since Oceania Cruises’ new Oceania Allura embarked on its maiden voyage. In its first 10 months, Allura sailed the Mediterranean, the Americas and the Caribbean after being launched in July 2025. Since then, Oceania has devised a program for the ship that links some of Europe’s key ports with ports of call in Canada, New England, Miami, and the Caribbean.

The Oceania Allura is still set to spend much of 2026 on Mediterranean duty, after which it will embark on a new season calling on Miami and traveling to the Caribbean during the winter.

The ship’s longer-term itinerary will further focus on cruising in the Mediterranean.

Allura Reaches First-Year Milestone

The Fincantieri ship Oceania Allura was delivered on 10th July 2025 at their Sestri Ponente shipyard in Genoa, Italy. The ship became the running mate of Oceania Vista, added to the fleet in 2023.

About 68,000 GRTs, Oceania Allura measures 246m long and will carry approximately 1200 passengers in 600 staterooms, filling the middle ground between the exclusive feeling found on small ships and the vast onboard facilities found on large modern cruise vessels.

The vessel will enter service shortly after delivery with her maiden voyage from Trieste on 18th July 2025. The 6-day inaugural Mediterranean sailing will venture toward Athens and will visit the ports of Rijeka, Ravenna, Dubrovnik and Kotor.

Mediterranean Cruises Defined Allura’s Debut Summer

The Mediterranean formed the centrepiece of Allura’s first summer.

Its programme allowed travellers to combine the ship experience with visits across some of southern Europe’s most important tourism destinations. The deployment covered both eastern and western parts of the Mediterranean and provided access to ports serving historic cities, coastal communities and major cultural attractions.

This itinerary structure can appeal particularly to travellers who want destination-intensive holidays rather than voyages dominated by consecutive days at sea.

Allura subsequently crossed the Atlantic as Oceania Cruises prepared the vessel for its first North American season.

Canada and New England Followed the European Season

After reaching North America, Allura operated itineraries covering Canada and New England during the autumn.

The deployment added a different type of cruise experience to its first-year programme. Instead of Mediterranean beaches and historic ports, passengers could explore Atlantic Canada and destinations in the northeastern United States during a period traditionally associated with autumn scenery.

The ship later travelled south to Florida and established PortMiami as the base for its inaugural Caribbean winter programme.

Miami also hosted an important milestone for the vessel. Oceania Cruises christened Allura on 13 November 2025, with six alumni of the Food & Wine Best New Chefs programme representing the ship’s godparents.

Allura Returns to Mediterranean Cruising in 2026

Following its first Caribbean winter, Allura returned to Europe for another Mediterranean season.

The current programme provides departures from several important cruise gateways, including ports in Italy, Malta, Spain, Turkey and Greece. This gives international travellers several options for combining a cruise with pre- or post-sailing city stays.

The ship is expected to remain in the region until early December before crossing the Atlantic again for Miami.

Its second Caribbean winter will feature voyages of roughly seven to 13 nights, opening opportunities to explore multiple islands during a single holiday. Destinations scheduled across the wider programme include Tortola in the British Virgin Islands and Gustavia on Saint Barthélemy.

What Travellers Should Know Before Booking Allura

Travellers considering Allura should look beyond the cruise fare when comparing itineraries. Port combinations, sailing duration, embarkation city and the number of sea days can significantly change the overall holiday experience.

Mediterranean passengers should also consider arriving at their embarkation destination at least one day before departure, particularly when travelling internationally. Flight disruption, missed connections or baggage delays can create problems when travellers schedule arrival too close to the ship’s departure.

Passengers planning Caribbean voyages from Miami should similarly check US entry requirements well before travelling. Visa and documentation rules depend on nationality, while individual Caribbean destinations may impose separate requirements.

Travellers should verify passport validity, insurance coverage, port schedules and entry conditions through the relevant government authorities before departure. Cruise itineraries can also change because of weather, port restrictions, operational requirements or other circumstances.

Mediterranean Focus Strengthens Allura’s Long-Term Role

Allura’s first anniversary also represents the turning point from launching state to the more ingrained position of a solid member of the Oceania Cruises fleet. The ship will sail its next Caribbean season and will be back in the Mediterranean by March 2027. Its programming from there on keeps it in the Mediterranean on a long-haul basis with Mediterranean sailings lined up into early 2029.
