Jetstar is excited to announce the relaunch of the only direct flight between Sydney and Osaka (Kansai), marking its first flight this morning. This reintroduction after 15 years brings convenient and affordable travel back to Japan’s second-largest city, following Tokyo.

Utilizing its Boeing 787 Dreamliners, Jetstar will operate three return trips weekly, providing over 100,000 budget-friendly seats annually between Sydney and Osaka. This milestone aligns with Jetstar’s 20th anniversary, furthering its commitment to making travel accessible with great low fares, enabling customers to explore more destinations more frequently.

Jenn Armor, Jetstar’s Executive Manager of Customer Relations, expressed the airline’s enthusiasm in offering yet another cost-effective travel option between Australia and Japan.

“Australians’ love for Japan continues to grow and the strength of the Australian dollar against the Yen means it’s incredibly affordable right now,” Ms Armor said.

“This is the third direct service we’ve launched from Australia to Japan in the last six months and the second to Osaka, with strong demand for our existing flights.

“As the food capital of Japan, Osaka has so much to offer Aussie travellers, with incredible night markets, street stalls and Michelann star restaurants.

“We currently have great low fares from Sydney to Osaka from just $363^ available at jetstar.com.”
