Korean Air has just unveiled a groundbreaking inflight safety video starring virtual humans. The video showcases a virtual figure dressed as a Korean Air flight attendant, delivering crucial safety instructions in a digital environment.

This innovative approach aims to connect with Korean Air’s diverse customer base, spanning various ages and cultural backgrounds. The video’s sleek and captivating visuals are anticipated to capture passengers’ attention and elevate their engagement levels.

Remarkably, this marks the aviation industry’s maiden voyage into incorporating virtual humans into a safety video. The virtual characters—Rina and the four-member virtual girl group, MAVE—were conceived by Metaverse Entertainment of Netmarble F&C.

Set in the “Korean Air Safety Lounge,” themed around aircraft motifs, this virtual space was purposefully crafted for simplified comprehension of inflight safety protocols. Rina, attired in the flight attendant uniform, is a virtual figure trained at Korean Air’s Cabin Crew Training Center, bestowed with an honorary flight attendant designation. Meanwhile, the MAVE members portray passengers diligently following safety guidelines.

Scheduled for deployment on all flights starting January 4, Korean Air’s new safety video will grace its official YouTube Channel (@koreanair) as well.

This initiative represents the airline’s dedication to reinforcing the significance of inflight safety while offering passengers an enhanced and novel experience. The video encompasses essential topics like stowing carry-on luggage, fastening seatbelts, restricted items, smoking regulations, response procedures for cabin pressure anomalies, emergency exit locations, and life jacket demonstrations.

A Korean Air spokesperson expressed, “This collaboration between the aviation realm and digital technology marks a significant milestone. Our aim is to revolutionize perceptions of inflight safety videos, ensuring they resonate more with passengers and enhance their engagement.”
