The announcement comes as travellers prepare for winter holidays in warmer destinations, where beachfront accommodation, outdoor recreation and entertainment remain important considerations when selecting resorts.

Rather than focusing exclusively on traditional swimming pools, Royalton is highlighting a broader range of facilities, including water slides, lazy rivers, hydrotherapy areas, rooftop pools and accommodation offering direct swimming pool access.

Mexico Leads Royalton’s Water Experiences With More Than 327,000 Square Feet

Mexico represents the largest concentration of aquatic facilities within the Royalton Hotels & Resorts portfolio.

According to the company, its Mexican properties account for more than 327,000 square feet of dedicated water experiences, representing nearly half of the group’s reported total.

At Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun, families can access more than 107,000 square feet of aquatic facilities.

The resort features a beachfront water park with 14 large slides, two lazy rivers and oceanfront swimming pools. These facilities allow guests to combine active recreation with quieter leisure experiences without leaving the property.

Another major offering is Planet Hollywood Cancun by Royalton, which provides more than 116,000 square feet of aquatic attractions.

The resort also features 221 swim-out suites, giving guests direct access to dedicated swimming areas from their accommodation.

Riviera Cancun Resorts Combine Relaxation With Poolside Entertainment

Royalton’s recently renewed Riviera Cancun properties further strengthen its aquatic offering.

Royalton Riviera Cancun and Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun collectively provide more than 95,000 square feet of water experiences.

Their facilities combine oceanfront pools, swim-out swimming areas and hydrotherapy amenities, creating opportunities for both recreation and relaxation.

Meanwhile, Royalton CHIC Cancun targets adults seeking a more social holiday environment.

The property features more than 9,000 square feet of aquatic facilities, including oceanfront infinity pools and its Level 18 rooftop pool.

Overlooking the Caribbean Sea, the rooftop setting combines panoramic coastal views with poolside entertainment and social spaces.

These contrasting resort concepts illustrate Royalton’s strategy of adapting aquatic facilities to different guest expectations.

Punta Cana, Jamaica and the West Indies Strengthen Caribbean Portfolio

Beyond Mexico, Royalton maintains a substantial collection of aquatic facilities across its Caribbean destinations.

Punta Cana accounts for more than 132,000 square feet of dedicated water experiences, while Jamaica contributes approximately 112,000 square feet.

Properties across the West Indies collectively offer another 88,000 square feet, according to the company’s figures.

Costa Rica adds approximately 8,000 square feet to the portfolio.

Across these destinations, guests can find beachfront swimming pools, private plunge pools, hydrotherapy facilities and selected non-motorised water sports.

The distribution of these amenities reflects the company’s approach to providing different leisure experiences across its international resort network.

“Royalton Hotels & Resorts’ emphasis on its extensive aquatic facilities demonstrates how the all-inclusive hospitality sector continues to evolve in response to changing traveller expectations. Today’s holidaymakers increasingly seek accommodation that combines relaxation, recreation, entertainment and memorable experiences within a single destination.

The company’s substantial water experiences across Mexico, the Caribbean and Costa Rica highlight the importance of differentiated resort offerings, particularly during the winter travel season when warm-weather destinations attract international visitors.

Family water parks, rooftop infinity pools and swim-out suites contribute to a more personalised holiday experience, allowing properties to appeal to different generations and travel preferences.

From a tourism industry perspective, investments in guest experiences and the effective promotion of existing facilities can strengthen destination competitiveness, encourage longer stays and support regional hospitality economies.

Royalton’s approach illustrates how thoughtfully designed leisure amenities can enhance guest satisfaction while reinforcing the international appeal of Caribbean and Mexican resort destinations.”

Royalton’s winter positioning also highlights the relationship between aquatic recreation and wider resort entertainment.

Swimming pools and water parks frequently serve as gathering places for daytime activities, organised entertainment and social interaction.

Guests can move from water-based recreation to restaurants, live performances, music programmes and themed evening shows.

For families travelling with children, this integrated approach can simplify holiday planning by providing several activities within one resort.

Adults-only properties, meanwhile, emphasise relaxation, social experiences and distinctive poolside environments.

The company has not announced new construction projects or additional aquatic facilities as part of this update. Its announcement primarily highlights the scale and diversity of existing resort amenities.

Royalton Hotels & Resorts is strengthening its winter holiday positioning by showcasing extensive aquatic facilities across Mexico, the Caribbean and Costa Rica. With more than 668,000 square feet of water experiences, the group is highlighting family recreation, adults-only relaxation and integrated entertainment as important features of its all-inclusive hospitality portfolio.
