The advent of AI has revolutionized recruitment strategies. A recent survey reveals that over 62% of recruiters are optimistic about the role of AI in reshaping the hiring process, and Kula is leading this transformation. Kula’s latest innovation is a comprehensive hiring platform that harnesses generative AI to streamline key recruitment tasks—such as sourcing, screening, scheduling, and gathering interview feedback—while featuring an AI-driven analytics dashboard. This launch signifies Kula’s shift from a niche tool for candidate sourcing to a robust platform that addresses the long-standing challenges recruiters have faced.

Historically, the recruitment process has been riddled with obstacles. Many teams still rely on outdated tools from the early 2010s, which are often cumbersome, inefficient, and fail to offer a smooth experience for both candidates and hiring teams. These systems typically require numerous additional features, resulting in excessive manual work for recruiters—such as sifting through countless applications—which slows down the hiring process. Established in 2021, Kula set out to simplify applicant sourcing and make recruitment more collaborative. Major companies, including Temporal, Gifthead, HighRadius, Bubble, Praxent, and Vercel, quickly adopted its solution. Now, with its latest release, Kula unveils a full-suite AI-powered platform designed to optimize every stage of recruitment, from outreach to analytics.

At the heart of Kula is an advanced Sourcing and CRM system, offering a customizable career site builder, wide-reaching job board distribution across more than 100 channels, and sophisticated outbound messaging tools. The platform includes a Chrome extension that simplifies sourcing, provides unlimited email enrichment with top-tier match rates, and automates candidate outreach on platforms like LinkedIn and GitHub. Uniquely, Kula allows automated InMail sending directly from the platform.

Kula’s new Applicant Tracking System (ATS) uses AI for intelligent candidate scoring and screening while also offering application review tools, interview planning, and scheduling support. Recruiters can create career portals and job pages with no coding expertise, allowing for professional-looking pages to go live in minutes without relying on marketing or development teams.

Completing the platform is a powerful analytics suite that provides real-time insights via conversational analytics and detailed dashboards. Current recruiting methods often rely on disjointed tools, resulting in fragmented data that complicates reporting. Moreover, recruiters frequently depend on analytics and operations teams to generate the insights they need for critical decisions. Kula’s unified platform removes the need for multiple disconnected systems, empowering recruiters with the tools they need for instant answers and better decision-making.

“We have our sights set on personalizing and automating the hiring process by deepening AI integration and expanding AI to solve use-cases around candidate search, rediscovery, assessments, scheduling and forecasting. We at Kula strongly believe that AI can be leveraged to expand talent discovery beyond the limits of what recruiters are able to do currently — from curating accurate and up-to-date candidate profiles, to enabling efficient search and proactive candidate recommendations based on specific business needs,” commented Achuthanand Ravi, CEO and co-founder of Kula.

The creators of Kula are seasoned experts in the recruitment industry. Achuthanand Ravi, who previously spearheaded recruiting at Freshworks, Uber, and most recently served as a leadership recruiter at Stripe, teamed up with engineering experts Sathappan M and Suman Kumar Dey to establish Kula in 2021. Their mission was born out of a clear need for change: they recognized that while advanced tech stacks were widely embraced in marketing and sales, the recruitment process remained largely untouched by such innovation. Together, they set out to revolutionize the outdated recruiting systems that had long lagged behind.

“Under Achuthanand’s leadership, Kula is poised to disrupt a market that’s been eagerly awaiting a next generation platform,” said Piruze Sabuncu, Partner at Square Peg. “Recruiting teams are looking for bundled tools built with efficiencies enabled by AI, and designed intuitively by people who understand how they use products — Kula is well-positioned to deliver a market-leading product due to the background of their leadership team as well as their track record of bringing innovative products to the market.

Notably, Kula stands out in two ways. First, it’s the only major hiring platform built for recruiters, by recruiters. Second, no competitor is offering the advanced AI functionalities at the scale that Kula is providing. “We are the first major hiring platform to be built after the AI-boom, so we’ve harnessed many of the advances of AI into our platform and purpose-built them for recruiting use cases,” says Kula co-founder and CEO, Achuthanand Ravi.

While Kula’s current core market focus has been North America and the Asia-Pacific region, further expansion is on the cards. “We plan on expanding to other geographies, including Europe, and build region specific product capabilities and support for compliance,” added Achuthanand Ravi.
