The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced the renewal and expansion of Lufthansa Cargo’s agreement to use CargoIS for its air freight data requirements, continuing a partnership of over ten years.
“We are pleased to announce the extension of our partnership with IATA through CargoIS. The market intelligence IT has provided us over the years and has played a key role in shaping our strategic planning and improving our operational efficiency. This extended collaboration not only helps us to refine our shipping strategies but also ensures our position at the forefront of the industry, guided by data-driven decision-making,” said Ashwin Bhat, CEO of Lufthansa Cargo.
With this updated agreement, Lufthansa Cargo will participate in the IATA CargoIS Direct Data (CDD) contribution program, aimed at the shared and pooled analysis of anonymized data among member airlines. This program, leveraging transactions from over 230 carriers, is instrumental in benchmarking performance, spotting industry trends, and facilitating informed decision-making within the highly competitive air freight market, offering unparalleled insights into transported commodities and offered services.
“Our decade-long partnership with on market intelligence related to air cargo highlights the value of IATA’s cargo data products and trust in our data intelligence solutions. CargoIS helps our customers to make better strategic decisions. Continuing and expanding our partnership with Lufthansa Cargo underscores the importance of leveraging data-driven insights to enhance efficiency and sustainability in the air cargo industry,” said Willie Walsh, IATA Director General and CEO.
IATA’s CargoIS platform delivers extensive market intelligence for the air freight industry, covering over 80,000 distinct city-to-city trade routes. It provides airlines, freight forwarders, airports, and shippers with deep insights into market trends, transforming large data sets into practical insights. This enables stakeholders to adeptly navigate the air freight market’s complexities, promoting a competitive edge and operational superiority.
