Luxury cruise pioneer Seabourn appoints Mike Fulkerson to lead marketing endeavors

Seabourn, a pioneer in ultra-luxury cruises and expedition voyages, has appointed Mike Fulkerson as its latest Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Taking on this position, Fulkerson will be responsible for directing the company’s comprehensive marketing strategy, brand positioning, performance evaluation, as well as managing public relations and communications. With over two decades of expertise in hospitality, wellness, and consumer marketing, Fulkerson joins the team to further elevate Seabourn’s prominence in the industry. Reporting directly to Seabourn’s President, Natalya Leahy, Fulkerson is poised to drive the brand’s growth and innovation.

Mike Fulkerson, the newly appointed Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Seabourn, brings with him a wealth of experience garnered over his dynamic career. Most recently, Fulkerson served as the Chief Marketing Officer for Canyon Ranch, where he orchestrated a comprehensive marketing strategy to position Canyon Ranch as a premier luxury brand. Under his guidance, a dedicated team was assembled, focusing on performance marketing, demand generation, and brand development. Notably, Fulkerson played a pivotal role in introducing innovative products like the Canyon Ranch Club and the brand’s inaugural digital app, solidifying Canyon Ranch’s status in the luxury wellness sector.

Before his tenure at Canyon Ranch, Fulkerson held a prominent position at Marriott International as the Asia Pacific Vice President of Marketing, headquartered in Hong Kong. In this role, he provided strategic marketing leadership across a vast expanse of more than 20 countries, spanning 21 diverse brands and over 700 hotels in the region. Fulkerson’s adept management ensured the successful execution of marketing initiatives tailored to the varied markets within the Asia Pacific region, contributing significantly to Marriott’s global success.

Prior to his tenure at Marriott International, Fulkerson amassed a rich tapestry of experience in global and regional leadership roles at renowned companies such as Mattel and Activision. These roles equipped him with a nuanced understanding of consumer behavior, market dynamics, and brand positioning strategies, which he now brings to his role at Seabourn. Fulkerson’s diverse background underscores his ability to navigate complex business landscapes and drive impactful marketing initiatives.

Mike Fulkerson’s academic background complements his extensive professional experience. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science from the University of the South. Currently residing in San Diego, Fulkerson’s strategic vision and wealth of expertise position him as an invaluable asset to Seabourn as the company continues to chart new horizons in the realm of luxury cruising and expedition travel.
