The second day of the World Islamic Tourism & Trade Expo (WITEX 2025) and the World Cultural & Arts Festival (WCAF 2025) continued with strong momentum, building on the success of its opening day.

On Day One (22 August 2025), the Expo saw over 10,000 visitors and welcomed more than 300 international trade buyers, emphasizing Malaysia’s role as a leading hub for Islamic tourism, trade, and cultural exchange.

The event on Day Two included a full-day conference at Sunway Resort Hotel, accompanied by vibrant expo stage activities and cultural showcases. These attracted delegates, industry leaders, and visitors from around the world.

The WITEX Conference Day 2 included insightful panel discussions, which covered:

• Sustainable & Ethical Islamic Tourism, which highlighted eco-friendly halal travel initiatives and halal medical tourism.
• Leveraging AI & Big Data in the Muslim Travel Market, focusing on personalization, digital trust, and blockchain applications.
• Islamic Culinary Tourism, showcasing halal gastronomy and innovations in food technology and certification.
• The Rise of Islamic Arts & Cultural Tourism, which emphasized heritage preservation, creative industries, and international collaborations.

Meanwhile, the WCAF Expo Stage featured a dynamic mix of cultural performances, art showcases, and culinary demonstrations, reinforcing the festival’s role as a platform for cross-cultural appreciation and creative exchange.

Dato’ Sri Dr. Mohd Khalid Harun, President of the Malaysian Tourism Agency Association (MATA) and Chairman of WITEX & WCAF 2025, expressed his satisfaction with the overwhelming response. He stated that the success of both events reflected the growing global demand for Islamic tourism, trade, and culture. He noted that with over 10,000 visitors and 300 trade buyers on the first day, the event demonstrated Malaysia’s strength as a unifying platform for business, culture, and community. He expressed confidence that the collaborations formed at the event would continue to create opportunities that benefit not only Malaysia but the entire global Islamic tourism ecosystem.
