Malaysia Motac to meet with MTC about deregistration

The Malaysia Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) would be coming in touch with the Malaysian Tourism Council (MTC) and exchange dialogues regarding its deregistration by the Registrar of Societies (RoS).


Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, its minister, said that the seminar will permit his ministry to realize the actual matter behind the deregistration and to carry on an additional evaluation.


Sing said that he does not know what the motives are and glitches that the council is confronting, but he will request the ministry’s deputy secretary-general to check out the problem and organize a meeting to
explore what they want to say.


He further said that the MTC required giving a clarification to the Home Ministry if it wanted to plea.
The MTC secretariat said that it expected to see Tiong quickly and deliberate on the matter and resolve the stuff justly to preserve the spirit of the MTC and its significant role in increasing Malaysia’s tourism
segment.


Noorzaleha Baharuddin, earlier MTC secretary-general said that the RoS had allotted MTC a deregistration letter in effect on July 20, after a thorough examination that found that the organization was purposely
infringing the Societies Act 1966 (Act 335).
