Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport invites schools across the North to participate in its ‘Little Book of Travel Tales’ initiative, aimed at gathering children’s poems, short stories, and illustrations centered around the theme of travel. This compilation will be distributed to young travelers passing through the airport during the summer season.

Following a successful launch last year, the ‘Little Book of Travel Tales’ returns for 2024. Schools entering the competition stand a chance to win a special visit to the airport, a contribution to their school library, and the opportunity to have their students’ work featured in print.

Entries from pupils should revolve around themes such as people at airports, airplanes, flying, traveling, holidays, different countries/cultures, and working in an airport. Stories and poems should be limited to 500 words and clearly marked with the school name, teacher’s name, pupil’s first name, initial of their surname, and age.

To participate, teachers need to register online and submit their top 10 entries to Joanna Jackson (Education Manager) at Olympic House, Manchester Airport, M90 1QX. Submissions must be received by Friday, May 24th.
