Marriott and Singapore Airlines enhance member benefits

Marriott International and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have unveiled an enhanced strategic partnership today, offering added benefits to members of Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s esteemed travel program, and KrisFlyer, the SIA Group’s lifestyle rewards program.

Effective immediately, eligible members of both programs can access a status match and an accelerated route to attaining higher elite status. This expansion builds upon the previously announced points and miles transfer benefits between the two programs in January 2023, enabling members to convert their Marriott Bonvoy points into KrisFlyer miles and vice versa.

Mr. John Toomey, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International, expressed excitement about the extended collaboration with Singapore Airlines. He emphasized that this development provides members with enhanced value for their travels and exclusive perks across Marriott Bonvoy’s extensive global network, encompassing nearly 8,700 hotels and resorts spanning over 30 distinct brands. He viewed this as a significant milestone in their global airline program and a testament to their commitment to continually enhancing customer loyalty.

Mr. Dai Haoyu, Acting Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines, highlighted the benefits for KrisFlyer members, emphasizing greater value and additional opportunities to earn and redeem points and miles. He underlined the timing of this enhancement, aligning with the strong demand for international travel, and how it caters to members’ evolving lifestyle interests.

The enhanced benefits include:

1. Status Match: Members can now enjoy elite status matching based on the elite tiers of both programs. Solitaire PPS Club, PPS Club, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold members will receive a status match to Marriott Bonvoy Gold, while Marriott Bonvoy Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador members will receive a status match to the KrisFlyer Elite Silver tier. Each elite status comes with its own set of privileges, such as room upgrades, late check-outs, bonus points, complimentary seat selection, lounge access, and more.
2. Accelerated Pathways to Higher Membership Tiers: Eligible Marriott Bonvoy members can expedite their KrisFlyer membership upgrade by completing as few as two to four flights with SIA within six months. Similarly, eligible KrisFlyer members can achieve an accelerated status match with Marriott Bonvoy by staying three to 10 nights at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels within a six-month timeframe.
3. Access to Exclusive Promotions: Marriott Bonvoy and KrisFlyer will periodically roll out exclusive campaigns, allowing members to earn both miles and points through their hotel stays and flights. Further details about these promotions will be announced in due course.
