Mauricio Veloso serves as Vice President of Corporate Sales & Strategy at LATAM. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the airline’s sales strategies and distribution channels, ensuring that LATAM remains competitive in the dynamic aviation industry. His expertise lies in aligning sales operations with market demands and customer expectations, thereby enhancing the airline’s reach and profitability.

LATAM Airlines has been making strides in transforming its retail strategy towards a digital-first experience. Could you elaborate on that transformation?

I can tell you that LATAM has always made continuous investments in technology. We’ve been providing innovative solutions, including artificial intelligence (AI). Our goal is to improve the way we serve our customers, making things faster, easier, and more personalized to meet their needs. Right now, we are particularly focused on integrating AI to enhance the customer experience. It’s an ongoing effort to provide better services that satisfy customer demands.

LATAM has made significant investments in modernizing its premium business cabins and premium economy. How does your global sales team highlight these enhanced products to corporate clients?

We’ve been making large-scale investments in fleet renovations, like retrofitting our Airbus A319s in Ecuador. Also, we are planning to update our fleets in Brazil, Peru, and other locations starting in 2026. We are introducing new business cabins that offer better seating, improved technology, and more privacy. This includes features such as sliding doors, which improve the overall experience. Additionally, we’re enhancing our premium economy offering, which is currently available on our narrow-body aircraft, like the Airbus 319, 320, and 321.

For our corporate customers, this is a completely revamped experience. We provide better meals, a higher level of service, and personalized attention from our flight attendants. We are letting our corporate clients know that this enhanced offering makes LATAM the best choice for their business travel needs. A major feature is our Wi-Fi services. By the end of this year, we will have Wi-Fi on almost 100% of our narrow-body fleets, ensuring that corporate travelers stay connected while flying.

LATAM has consistently earned top industry awards, including the recognition as a five-star global airline and South America’s leading airline. How does your team leverage these accolades in your corporate sales pitch and marketing strategies?

We highlight our achievements during every interaction with corporate clients. For instance, we proudly share that LATAM has been awarded the Skytrax title “The Best Airline in South America” for five consecutive years and has also received the Apex Passenger Choice Award for three consecutive years. These accolades demonstrate that LATAM is a premium airline, and we ensure to communicate that in all our corporate pitches. It’s essential for our clients to know that LATAM is the airline of choice for corporate travel.

LATAM is also expanding its network with new routes, such as the Bogotá to Aruba route. How does your global sales team identify which businesses will benefit from these specific routes?

LATAM operates 153 destinations across 27 countries, offering a wide variety of routes tailored to both corporate and leisure travelers. When new routes are introduced, like the Bogotá to Aruba route, we analyze feedback from our corporate clients and assess the needs of different industry sectors. This input helps us tailor our network expansion to align with the business demands. We also rely on data analysis, such as BSP data, to identify opportunities. By continuously evaluating our routes and destinations, we ensure that our network serves the needs of both corporate clients and leisure travelers.
