In 2023, Miami Beach earned top titles as a premier destination, including “World’s Leading Lifestyle Destination,” marking a year of global recognition.

In the beginning of 2023, Miami Beach garnered significant acclaim, earning the titles of “North America’s Leading Beach Destination” and “North America’s Leading City Destination” from a highly respected organization in the travel sector. This renowned location has now achieved further recognition as the “World’s Leading Lifestyle Destination 2023” by the World Travel Awards. This adds another feather to Miami Beach’s cap of honors received throughout 2023. Celebrated for its diversity and the plethora of experiences it offers visitors, Miami Beach boasts an impressive public art collection, numerous museums and galleries, an array of top-tier luxury hotels and spas, and culinary delights from both acclaimed and emerging chefs.

Grisette Marcos, the Executive Director of the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority, expressed pride in receiving the title of the World’s Leading Lifestyle Destination of 2023 from the esteemed World Travel Awards. This follows their previous accolades highlighting Miami Beach’s international allure. Marcos emphasized their ongoing efforts to position the city as a top destination, enhancing visitor engagement through interactive resources and thoughtful user experiences to attract both returning and new tourists.

Miami Beach invites tourists to explore a city rich in architectural heritage and design, nestled among iconic waters. The area offers diverse activities to engage with its natural splendor and lifestyle, such as water sports, beachfront yoga, and culinary options focusing on invasive species and sustainable practices to protect marine life. In the past year, the Miami Beach and Visitor and Convention Authority have invested in immersive technology, including launching the EXP Miami Beach Tours App, available on Google Play and Apple. This app provides users with a multitude of lifestyle itinerary options, including tours of cultural institutions, public art, art deco, LGBTQ+ experiences, and more.

Enhancing its status as a global lifestyle leader, Miami Beach is set to participate in the inaugural Open House Miami event, scheduled for March 1-2, 2024. This event will mark Miami Beach as the fourth U.S. city to join this international initiative, following New York, San Diego, and Chicago. Open House Miami aims to foster community engagement in shaping the future and celebrating historical design and architecture. The event will offer complimentary access to a variety of notable buildings across Miami Beach, allowing visitors to connect, learn, and engage in meaningful discussions and debates.

Grisette Marcos reiterated their commitment to preserving Miami Beach’s distinguished history in 2024, while also introducing new attractions and experiences like Open House Miami to draw global visitors. Further, she mentioned plans to enhance their technological resources, including the integration of augmented reality on various platforms, to further showcase the unique lifestyle of Miami Beach.
