Modi to unveil historic Hindu temple in the UAE

The forthcoming inauguration of the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Abu Dhabi by Prime Minister Modi on February 14 stands as a historic occasion, especially for the Hindu community residing in the city, with the temple opening its doors to the public on March 1st. Prime Minister Modi has expressed his anticipation for the event and his eagerness to connect with the Indian diaspora in the UAE during the Ahlan Modi program.

Via his social media channels, Prime Minister Modi has shared his pride in the Indian diaspora and their contributions towards strengthening India’s ties with the global community. He conveyed his excitement about joining the Indian diaspora in the UAE for the #AhlanModi program, inviting everyone to be part of this significant event.

In the lead-up to the temple’s formal inauguration, Sadhu Brahmaviharidas has shed light on the crucial support provided by the UAE’s leadership, expressing gratitude towards the rulers and leaders of the UAE for their generosity and friendship. He particularly praised the meaningful relationship between India’s Prime Minister and the rulers of the UAE, which has played a pivotal role in the realization of the temple project.

Sadhu Brahmaviharidas elaborated on the symbolic significance of the temple’s design, which includes seven spires. These spires not only represent the unity of the seven emirates but also embody the deep-rooted harmony between India and the UAE. Furthermore, the temple honours seven key deities, illustrating the interconnectivity of various cultures and religions.

This temple’s inauguration by Prime Minister Modi is poised to significantly influence tourism in Abu Dhabi.
